tink it was a gd trip for me esp considering e fact dat i have not gone back to indonesia for seven yrs..my mum grew up there..n shifted to spore when she got married..more or less went to e same places dat i visited when i was younger but amazed by e changes that are taking place in e family n place itself..
for me, it was refreshing to noe dat one of my aunts is quite a fervent Christian..though she considers herself catholic but she's listening to new creation's pastor prince sermon cds..n her boss is from there as well..well..anyway, religious denomination aside, can sense her heart n trust in e Lord..feels strengthened when God used her to provide a way for me not to hold joss stick when observing my grandpa's death anniversary..grandma was understanding as well..thank God! was quite hesitant n did not noe wat to do..can see her oso testify for Christ in e many conversations..tried to give thanks to e Lord by letting my parents noe her identity..n my dad..she tried to share though it was hard man..haha..we even discussed abt speaking in tongues during e trip..she clarified her understanding n i gave mine as well..let her n e rest noe dat i am a Christian..though it was hard explaining to them understanding abt e denomination/movement of Hope..
can sense e whole country is like waking up from all e many yrs dat were lost since e fall of Suharto well back n e many crisis dat she had gone thru-e changing of presidents, bali bombing,riots..though not many things had yet changed but tink it is slowly standing on its feet again..it's a veri big country, many natural resources..yet to be developed..e potential for God's work n economic devpt can be infinite..our local brands have ventured there as well: osim, old change kee, ya kun n breadtalk-seems like everywhere..not to forget oso some of e buys spore had made in their banks,telecom..hmm..do feel e difference as a minority there though i hang out at shopping ctres frequent mainly by chinese locals..
my heart for mission did not reali get stirred as in seeing myself going there or elsewhere to plant a church..language barrier is a huge obstacle..though trying to practise my puny bahasa that i knew when took e lvl 1 module in nus but w/o much success..haha..it's abt e impt of having enough money not juz hope to repay my aunts' gd favor but as well able to play a part in supporting church planting teams..man..it's impt..
still reflecting..n need rest for tmw's work..another new chapter!
