tots

before i do some 'work' prior to dept retreat on mon..should blog man..felt refreshed today :) in e midst of preparing for e mission trip end-aug, learnt some basic thai from a thai bro who is working here..he was like so warm, patient n friendly, just teaching us..thankful for that..some of us can reali pick up fast man..tink have to depend on them during e trip..haha..it is an interesting combination as all of us r in different cgs..seldom get to interact..but share e same heart ba to want to explore His work beyond our shores..

was so glad that i finally passed my final theory on fri! after umpteen times..too ashamed to disclose the number of times i've failed e theory tests man..haha..tot driving maybe it's not for me, seriously you dun need a car to live here..but it's a useful tool to have esp if u were to work overseas or even a prevalent social norm here..i am not one person who is easily motivated by such pursuits esp when encountering setbacks..wat a waste of time n money..would like to dwell in negativity but learning to grow..passing tis test is not big deal yet..does not equate to getting dat licence but it does signify a new perspective, direction for my life after grad for 15mths..

it sets me thinking abt e kind of life, dreams, passions i used to have..not that i have not been thinking all this while..but somehow they got buried, hardly mentioned except when meeting like-minded people..esp when attending those prayer meetgs when alan share abt his ventures,updates..there is something exciting about his vision n life that attracts me man..and among his inner circle..it fits quite aligned to e 'rich dad, poor dad' books i have been reading..e liberty to be self-employed, have dat personal space n for us, furthering e kingdom causes at the same time..

frankly speaking, you cannot depend on a paycheck and job promotion alone to live through..probably can but would most likely be surviving in tis country of ours..dat seems to be a thing of e past..esp living in tis information age..it's a truth i painfully discovered only recently..was never convinced by the fact that you need plentiful money and you should have it in abundantly, working for you..using it for e right purposes..to me, getting a stable job means everything to me..but prob not so now..there are limitless opportunities out there not just in our economy but e world out there..people,talent,information has never been so mobile and accessible before..as believers, we should really regularly re-think and make ourselves relevant n connected..e world would fade away eventually..yes..but e very least we should do is to testify, make some tangible impact in various stratas of society..we should consolidate our various strengths and do some ventures of sort..our community is so small..what can one do out there if we try it ourselves? we can't be in our hope environment 24/7, live and be comfortable where we are..where does this lead to?

if i were to imagine my next job..do hope to go into a non-8-5 job man..maybe i would be a tour guide cum cab driver..e flexibility just attracts me..want to pursue social work, career, part time maybe yet enjoy financial success, accompanying it could be to be a trainer, biz partner n investor..could be in sports, education, theatre..it would be interesting..i can reali visualise myself, just doing the things i like and in line w what He wants me to do..yet enjoy financial freedom n abundant cash..this is just in e aspect of career, He can do infinitely more than what we imgine ourselves to be and living in a fast-paced place, there is an imperative to do so..
