more exposure,more moulding,more gwth!

One week into my new job and it has been nothing but feeling v impressed and empowered to do my work well with more resources and systems in place. I guess working at ministry level is pretty different from a hostel setting. The latter gives you the freedom,space and exposure to different kind of cases whereas the former grounds you in work procedures plus your investigation,assessment and recommendation skills especially being cross-examined and scrutinised by judges at the courts. It deals more with the initial phase of court referrals whereas by the time the juvenile offender is sent to the hostel,certain amount of work would probably have been done with the case and the youth is more difficult to work with. It is a pity though that hostels do not enjoy the amount of access,resources and contacts compared to ministry. Hostel workers should be better trained and equipped to handle the more challenging cases when the initial phase of help is already exhausted. I look forward to presenting my cases in different courts more and running some of the in-house programmes. After all,the greatest benefactor is the offender,not for the practioner. It gives me even more motivation and impetus being backed up by more programmes available.

This year has started with a bang and even though it is february, it feels like half a year has passed by!

The sowing season ended and the discipleship season just began. I think my people and I will have a good and fruitful time in re-learning the spiritual habits,attitudes and fruit of the Spirit while trying to be good testimony in our workplace. Hopefully we will persevere,bearing fruit and His Spirit will give us the power and wisdom to lead effective lives for His glory. I feel excited and energised also to climb mount kinabalu again in May this year with my sec sch peers after losing contact for so long. Not forgetting getting to know dear's colleagues through the dance class and knowing more couples, family group ppl thru mpc. Really hope to expand my social ,much broader and grow in maturity so that can minister well to couples and families. Not necessarily centered my life around church friends and my own-age and life station peers only. Guess I will have lesser time to blog but will be living life to the fullest once again =0
