enjoyed e time i had w some ex-jc gp bros n sis..sharon,joyce,jason,huichun,junting,weilong..it had been a tradition of sort to celebrate one another's birthdays for many years now since 04 ba..but of late, it had also become a support group..we talked openly abt personal issues dat we faced, in e community n tertiary..not forgetting e ever relevant bgr topic..

tink it is quite fruiful e time whereby u just shared w no particular agenda in mind..prob just to give whoever e encouragement n support..e sharing made me realise n appreciate wat alan had done for e uni gp when he was still around..it was sthg that caused me to tink abt prior to e meet-up when i met up with staff from a particular polytechnic w e rest..their zeal n passion for sports reali impressed me a lot..reminded of my director who is also a veri hands on boss..serving,sensitive,helpful..

i used to tink dat alan seemed to have a hand in everything in e ministries dat he created..it's like so many systems n well spelt out wat r e kinds of outcomes he wants to see..even our tertiary church camp skit two years back..he joined in as well..i am like thinking..doesnt he has other things to do meh? why is there a need to be so detailed n thorough?

well..i guess i am better appreciative now..from all e things i heard..it reali is e same situation in my workplace..my boss took e extra trouble to explain to us wat we wanna do as a dept n putting all those learning circles..to faciliate learning..few things dat i am beginning to be convicted abt

1. hey man..e number thingy doesnt matter much now..e no of converts/participants to see in each event..not to say it is no longer impt..but it's e process n thinking dat counts..so wat u win 300 converts n fill up e entire nexus? it definitely will please e Lord to see many cross e line but it's not e only thing to be focused on ba..tis conversion figure should come out of e ppl having a common understanding n burden for e lost..every soul is won thru sweat n blood, well-connected n earned respect whoever is sowing..everyone grew n experienced God either learnt abt e sowing process n skills..tis is prob more eternal

2. there better be some direction in watever u r doing..no matter wat work/ministry u all in..or u can reali eat air for e rest of yr life..never realised more until started work..basically it's routine u faced with 90% of yr time/week..talk abt all e admin work u had to do, lunch w ppl u had, all e workouts u do..if u dun figure out why God made u to be..wat he wants u to do everyday..life will pass by much w each date being crossed out in yr calendar..

tis is esp crucial just like for our country..faced w e constant whammys from our neighbors..n emerging power economies like china n india..limited resources..wat can she do except to plan, tink ahead a few more steps compared to e rest? tink it's reali foward-thinking leadership n zeal w energy that brought us to where we are n w'd continue to do so in order to secure our future..if we were to just rest our laurels n believe dat tis Asean grouping n supposedly 'unity' w'd win foreign investors..then we r prob self-deceiving..it'd still be missing from investors' map unless we get our act together n put aside our personal interests,inward-lookingness..or else it might just be another 'sinking ship' in time to come..
